DSD March 13, 2018: "Paris" - SNOW CULTURE

Shaun Cordingley

Welcome to the "Daily Song Drop": theguysfrom.com's song of the day feature where our resident indie music writer and former DJ Shaun Cordingley features a song every weekday that he feels you need to hear. If you enjoy the track, please share it, so we can keep on talking about great new music!

Paris - SNOW CULTURE

Swedish mellow electro-pop artist SNOW CULTURE released an EP late last year called EP1, and today (having finally found my notes from the very end of last year) we are going to talk about "Paris".

Check the track out below:

"Paris" starts off like the purest electro-pop track you have ever heard, gradually building and adding layers to create a lush electronic sound before pulling that out from under you, giving the beautiful vocals the perfect platform they need to draw you in. I really love the instrumental journey that "Paris" takes, as it really has an ebb and flow to it that is so hard to balance in EDM, let alone in a track which so heavily features thoughtful, story-driven lyrics. There's a sweetness to "Paris" that just worms its way into you and stays there long after the track finishes, and I find that I am having trouble listening to it just once in a sitting; every piece feels exactly as it should, and I would be hard pressed to find you a better chill electro-pop song that would fit your next roadtrip, your next late-night city drive, or your next "I just want to chill at home" night then "Paris".

If you enjoy this track, be sure to check out the rest of EP1. You cannot go wrong with any of SNOW CULTURE's releases as far as I am concerned, and they are one of those artists that I will be keeping an eye on for the foreseeable future (as I am very excited to hear what is next).

The February 2018 DSD Apple Music List and February 2018 DSD Spotify List are available! These ones where admittedly tricky as it is a short month (meaning there are fewer songs for me to build the set with), and we are also missing a couple from the lists: "Coward's Castle" by Monti and "highr" by buuzey. However, I have to say that I do enjoy the playlist this month, and I hope you will check it out (at the links above), and share it with your friends!

If you're looking for any of our past playlists, be sure to check out a Friday DSD feature, or search for theguysfrom on either Apple Music or Spotify!

See you tomorrow for our next Daily Song Drop!

The Guys From do not hold the rights to any "Daily Song Drop" songs, it is more our hope to expose our readers to new and different music that we are enjoying, or re-expose them to artists they may have forgotten about.

Above the description of the song will be the song name, followed by the artists' name linked to their website, so you can fall down the rabbit hole, finding and supporting what you dig.
