DSD August 29, 2017: "All My Life" - WILD

Shaun Cordingley

Welcome to the "Daily Song Drop": theguysfrom.com's song of the day feature where our resident indie music writer and former DJ Shaun Cordingley features a song every weekday that he feels you need to hear.

All My Life - WILD

Longtime readers will recognize Los Angeles based indie pop/folk trio WILD from their three appearances in Tuesday Tunes (once in August 2016, one in March 2016, and again in December 2015). Today they return with their latest single "All My Life"; check it out below:

Generally when I am looking for a warm-feeling bit of indie pop-folk, I think about WILD; their combination of harmony and acoustic guitar always (always) works together really well to paint a enjoyable picture, even when when a subject is a little more serious, as is the case with "All My Life".  I like that this track takes a lot of what they have done in their previous tracks, refined it, and added in a bit of piano, and a few really cool vocal flourishes to give the song the bit of dynamism I've come to appreciate from each of this bands' songs.
At it's heart, however, "All My Life" is an excellent indie folk song by a trio of musicians who clearly like playing together, and are (hopefully) pushing toward a debut album

I think that WILD is one of those bands who have never released a song that I haven't liked, and frankly if you are a fan of modern (indie) folk music, or someone like Of Monsters and Men, you should take this opportunity to dive into the WILD catalog (you can always start with the other three songs I've talked about too, as my recommendation).

Here's the July 2017 DSD Playlist! We're missing a few tracks this month, which is sad for the Apple Music folks, but you've still got a really solid list this month (if I do say so myself, which I do...*cough*)
We are also now on Spotify! Here is the link to the July '17 Spotify List  (which features 1 more track than the Apple Music list).

If you're looking for any of our past playlists, be sure to check out a Friday DSD feature, or serach for TGF on either Apple Music or Spotify!

See you tomorrow for our next Daily Song Drop!

The Guys From do not hold the rights to any "Daily Song Drop" songs, it is more our hope to expose our readers to new and different music that we are enjoying, or re-expose them to artists they may have forgotten about.

Above the description of the song will be the song name, followed by the artists' name linked to their website, so you can fall down the rabbit hole, finding and supporting what you dig
