DSD August 30, 2017: "Force of Evil" - Beshken

Shaun Cordingley

Welcome to the "Daily Song Drop": theguysfrom.com's song of the day feature where our resident indie music writer and former DJ Shaun Cordingley features a song every weekday that he feels you need to hear.

Force of Evil - Beshken

One of the things that I love about electronic (and indie electronic) music is that that umbrella term covers such a wide range of sounds, but is usually great music for any situation. Case in point is "Force of Evil" by Brooklyn based artist Beshken off of his new EP For Time is the Longest Distance Between Two People

Check the track out below:

"Force of Evil" is a buzzy, late night, electronic track with roots in both ambient, and a more danceable sound, all blended together with Benhken's vocals. I really do think that it is the deep, strangely soothing, monotone-but-not vocals that tie this track together, as there are occasions when the tempo just seems to be edging up, but the song remains grounded. "Force of Evil" is one of those tracks I come across from time to time that just screams to be used in a film, or, while it is still for the select few of us, what I think needs to be added to any late-night driving/train playlists...I can see myself, headphones on, watching the city lights roll by, listening to this and just feeling chill and happy about it.

If you dig "Force of Evil" be sure to check out the rest of For Time is the Longest Distance Between Two People, particularly "The Roman Call" for a more dance-heavy track.

Here's the July 2017 DSD Playlist! We're missing a few tracks this month, which is sad for the Apple Music folks, but you've still got a really solid list this month (if I do say so myself, which I do...*cough*)
We are also now on Spotify! Here is the link to the July '17 Spotify List  (which features 1 more track than the Apple Music list).

If you're looking for any of our past playlists, be sure to check out a Friday DSD feature, or serach for TGF on either Apple Music or Spotify!

See you tomorrow for our next Daily Song Drop!

The Guys From do not hold the rights to any "Daily Song Drop" songs, it is more our hope to expose our readers to new and different music that we are enjoying, or re-expose them to artists they may have forgotten about.

Above the description of the song will be the song name, followed by the artists' name linked to their website, so you can fall down the rabbit hole, finding and supporting what you dig
