Welcome to the "Daily Song Drop": theguysfrom.com's song of the day feature where our resident indie music writer and former DJ Shaun Cordingley features a song every weekday that he feels you need to hear.
Too Good - Marsicans
Long time readers of the DSD (and Tuesday Tunes) are definitely going to recognize Leeds-based indie band Marsicans as this marks their fifth appearance here on TGF (we talked about them in February 2016, May 2016, September 2016, and March 2017)
Honestly, as long as they keep releasing single like those four, or their latest track, "Too Good", and I'm not having other people tell me about them, I am going to continue talking Marsicans here.
Check out "Too Good" below:
"Too Good" is a bit more chill of a track for Marsicans, that leans a little bit more into the indie pop feel, rather than some of the more uptempo, rock tracks that we have featured before. This still features their fun songwriting, the "almost need to sing along with" vocals, and really excellent musicianship. I appreciate the use of harmony in the slower sections of the verses, and the never-too-far-away electric guitar that always pops up in Marsicans' tracks to great effect.
I have really run out of things to say about Marsicans at this point; if you are looking for fun, indie pop rock, then you need to look no further than these lads, and if you are lucky enough to be in the UK in October, you can catch them on tour (check out their website, that I linked above) for details).
Here's the July 2017 DSD Playlist! We're missing a few tracks this month, which is sad for the Apple Music folks, but you've still got a really solid list this month (if I do say so myself, which I do...*cough*)
We are also now on Spotify! Here is the link to the July '17 Spotify List (which features 1 more track than the Apple Music list).
If you're looking for any of our past playlists, be sure to check out a Friday DSD feature, or serach for TGF on either Apple Music or Spotify!
See you tomorrow for our next Daily Song Drop!
The Guys From do not hold the rights to any "Daily Song Drop" songs, it is more our hope to expose our readers to new and different music that we are enjoying, or re-expose them to artists they may have forgotten about.
Above the description of the song will be the song name, followed by the artists' name linked to their website, so you can fall down the rabbit hole, finding and supporting what you dig
