Welcome to the "Daily Song Drop": theguysfrom.com's song of the day feature where our resident indie music writer and former DJ Shaun Cordingley features a song every weekday that he feels you need to hear.
Body Confident - The Hubbards
Starting off November on the Daily Song Drop we have a 4-piece indie pop rock band from Hull, UK called The Hubbards with their latest single "Body Confident".
Check the track out below:
The Hubbards are a band that have been on my radar for a little while now, but there's just something about "Body Confident" that convinced me that this was the track to share with y'all. They are a fun, radio-ready indie pop rock group, and this track is the perfect example of that: the lyrics are simple (as in, easy to learn to sing along to), with engaging vocals, the guitars are engaging (and may be my favourite part of the track--the guitar is really quite good), and the production is really well executed in bringing everything together. These lads feel like they enjoy what they are doing, and that always makes pop rock that little bit sweeter.
I mentioned above that I have had The Hubbards on my radar for a while, which means I can totally suggest a couple of other tracks that I've enjoyed of theirs, including the retro-infused "Just Touch" (which really lets their drums shine), and "Cold Cut"
The September 2017 Apple Music Playlist and September 2017 Spotify Playlist are ready! As is tradition, the lists are missing a track ("To Do" (Be Yourself) by LEMZI), but I suppose that's just something that you're going to be used to be now considering the way this always seems to go.
If you're looking for any of our past playlists, be sure to check out a Friday DSD feature, or serach for TGF on either Apple Music or Spotify!
And don't forget, the October Playlist will be coming out this Friday!
See you tomorrow for our next Daily Song Drop!
The Guys From do not hold the rights to any "Daily Song Drop" songs, it is more our hope to expose our readers to new and different music that we are enjoying, or re-expose them to artists they may have forgotten about.
Above the description of the song will be the song name, followed by the artists' name linked to their website, so you can fall down the rabbit hole, finding and supporting what you dig
