DSD July 18, 2017: "Good Loving (feat. Dj Yin)" - Bankyondbeatz

Shaun Cordingley

Welcome to the "Daily Song Drop":'s song of the day feature where our resident indie music writer and former DJ Shaun Cordingley features a song every weekday that he feels you need to hear.

Good Loving (feat. Dj Yin) - Bankyondbeatz

Nigerian producer Bankyondbeatz returns to the DSD this week, having first popped up on here in March for the chill, jazzy "Fale Comigo" ; this time, he has put together a bright, summer ready EDM track in his latest single "Good Loving (featuring Dj Yin)".

Give the song a listen below:

"Good Loving" has just the right amount of pop to it to make it feel perfect for a hot, summer dance party--this is such a pure, feel-good dance track that it's almost ridiculous. There also happens to be a real, thoughtful balance in the production of "Good Loving", as it shifts musically a few times, all while maintaining it's overall, happy feeling--it sounds completely different at least three times (pop/electro/house) a former DJ, trust me: that is hard to pull off.

I also appreciate the fact that "Good Loving" is one of those songs that just gives me a smile every time I hear it. There's something about the way it's built, sung, and bounces that makes me actually feel better listening to it...and frankly I don't know how I could praise it more than that.

Oh, and yet another shout-out to Oreoluwa Peters, who, whenever he sends me a song, I know I'm probably going to really like it, and be sharing it with y'all.

Here's the June 2017 DSD Playlist! We're only missing one track this month (as is tradition)! This months list was actually one of the harder ones for me to put together into something that feels (at least sort of) cohesive...I'm not sure why, but I am happy with the way it turned out in the end!
I've also heard you, and here it is: theguysfrom playlists are now available on Spotify! You can find us by looking for theguysfrom on Spotify, click on this link for the June '17 Spotify List...I will also embed the last months' playlist on every Friday DSD.

Come on back tomorrow for our next Song of the Day!

The Guys From do not hold the rights to any "Daily Song Drop" songs, it is more our hope to expose our readers to new and different music that we are enjoying, or re-expose them to artists they may have forgotten about.

Above the description of the song will be the song name, followed by the artists' name linked to their website, so you can fall down the rabbit hole, finding and supporting what you dig.
