DSD May 16, 2017: "Boomerang" - Milano Sun

Shaun Cordingley

Welcome to the "Daily Song Drop":'s song of the day feature where our resident indie music writer and former DJ Shaun Cordingley features a song every weekday that he feels you need to hear.

Boomerang - Milano Sun

Milano Sun is a Swedish pop band who first started making music together back in 2012, and have taken a wander into a sort of, chill 1960s style single with their latest release "Boomerang".

Give it a listen below:

I really like "Boomerang"s combination of 1960s, mild , psychedelia, with hints of 90s Britrock, and just enough of a modern, indie pop feel to make it incredibly listenable. At the heart of the song though, is all sorts of 60s, and a great use of harmony to balance the vocals. Longtime readers of the DSD will probably also recognize the fact that Milano Sun use piano to a great effect in this track, and that is something that I am always a sucker for when it comes to indie pop.

Their new album is expected sometime later this year, so if you dug "Boomerang" be sure to keep an eye out for more Milano Sun!

The DSD Playlist - Apr 17 is now available! We are sadly missing one song from the last month (again), but I'm pretty happy with how this one all came together!

ICYMI (somehow) here is the DSD Playlist - Mar 17 , and there's also one kicking around for DSD Playlist - Feb 17 too!

See you again tomorrow (with probably another completely different sounding song, so I can hate myself come Playlist time...)

The Guys From do not hold the rights to any "Daily Song Drop" songs, it is more our hope to expose our readers to new and different music that we are enjoying, or re-expose them to artists they may have forgotten about.

Above the description of the song will be the song name, followed by the artists' name linked to their website, so you can fall down the rabbit hole, finding and supporting what you dig.
