DSD March 31, 2017: "Stuck Between" - Dutch Criminal Record

Shaun Cordingley

Welcome to the "Daily Song Drop": theguysfrom.com's song of the day feature where our resident indie music writer and former DJ Shaun Cordingley features a song every weekday that he feels you need to hear.

Stuck Between - Dutch Criminal Record

I figured that a little summery pop-rock would be a nice way to wrap up March and "Stuck Between" by UK indie surf band Dutch Criminal Record fits the bill nicely.  These four lads have created a really fun and upbeat sound in "Stuck Between", which relies on the traditional drum/bass/guitar sound, all layered into a great, feel good song.

Check out the official  "Stuck Between" video below:

"Stuck Between" hits on everything you should want from indie pop-rock: it's very well produced (but not over-produced), it's catchy as hell, and you can get a genuine feeling from it that Dutch Criminal Record have a really good time playing it, and pass that along to us. I really have to say that I love the bit near the end of the track where the guitar gets to shine (and perhaps get a little bit of help from a keyboard).

If this is your first introduction to Dutch Criminal Record, then I also have to suggest that you check out "Socks and Sandals" for a bit more upbeat fun.
