DSD April 2, 2018: "Nowhere To Go" - Grace Blue

Shaun Cordingley

Welcome to the "Daily Song Drop": theguysfrom.com's song of the day feature where our resident indie music writer and former DJ Shaun Cordingley features a song every weekday that he feels you need to hear.
If you enjoy the TGF Playlists, it would help us out a lot if you could share them with folks, as with the new algorithms on Facebook and Instagram, TGF is having to fight harder for traffic, so sharing the songs (articles) or lists is something you could do that can really make a difference!

Nowhere To Go - Grace Blue

Israeli alt-pop duo Grace Blue (now based in Los Angeles) just recently debuted their second music video off of their first (self-titled) EP earlier this month for the track "Nowhere to Go", and I think it's a track that needs to be heard by the pop fans in the Daily Song Drop audience.

Check the video out below:

"Nowhere To Go" is a beautiful alt-pop track which relies heavily on the excellent, emotional vocals of Grace Mogz; you feel every note in this song, as she tells you a story (that we all, sadly, can probably relate to) of being stuck in an emotionally/mentally unstable, and indeed unhealthy place in life. What I really appreciate is that the synth heavy instrumentation (shoutout to keyboardist Joseph Arazi) provides a pitch perfect backdrop for said vocals, and gives the song a richness and depth that helps to elevate it to something engaging, yet never becoming depressing to the point that you (or at least I) don't keep clicking repeat.

If this is your first introduction to Grace Blue, be sure to check out some of their lovely debut track "Our Eyes", or the rest of their self-titled EP which released last year!

The March 2018 DSD Apple Music Playlist and the March 2018 DSD Spotify Playlist are now available! Once again, we are missing a few of tracks this month, those being "Dungeons" - Malik,  "EPIPHANY" by Pizzo Da LP, and "One Night in Tokyo" - The New Division (though this is due to the fact that the new album does not drop until the end of May).
Even though there are a few gaps that made constructing the list a bit tricky, I think it turned out pretty well and  I hope you will check it out and share it with folks!

If you're looking for any of our past playlists, be sure to check out a Friday DSD feature, or search for theguysfrom on either Apple Music or Spotify!

See you tomorrow for our next Daily Song Drop!

The Guys From do not hold the rights to any "Daily Song Drop" songs, it is more our hope to expose our readers to new and different music that we are enjoying, or re-expose them to artists they may have forgotten about.

Above the description of the song will be the song name, followed by the artists' name linked to their website, so you can fall down the rabbit hole, finding and supporting what you dig.
